Its for me , had a look at the TW Steel watches and they are quart and I want an automatic watch if possible. No idea what to get but my mrs will be buying it for me.
Automatic? Buy a Citizen Eco-Drive. Works off the power of light. Never have to wind it, so that is about as automatic as you can get. Spooky.
http://www.seiyajapan.com/collections/seiko?page=2&sort_by=price-ascending I bought from them several years ago, took 3 days to get to me which is bonkers considering it came half way across the world. Citizen, Seiko and the lesser known Orient brand have been the answer to this question for a long time. Its just a shame that we don't get a good choice of these watches here or they try selling them at vastly inflated prices to those in Asia.
cheers for the suggestions chaps. I think I am going to leave it I have an idea of something I want in my mind but its none of these. I have a seiko auto that I have had for years that looks like a rolex red and blue one. I think I will just wait until I have the cash to get something I really want. It was the mrs asking about my 40th next month but looks like we'll have a weekend city break instead.
I thought TW Seet did both movements? Here is a collection i looked at that has automatic movement. http://www.twsteel.com/eu_en/canteen-leather/cs46.html
Do you mean something like this? http://www.creationwatches.com/prod...jubilee-bracelet-skx009k2-mens-watch-712.html Its a design style Seiko has been doing for a very long time, there a real modern classic despite the tiny price.
Ok, without trying to act like a salesmen for them, how about this: http://www.twsteel.com/eu_en/canteen-bracelet/cb5.html
I think I'm going to get a Bulova 96b175 its a quartz but I quite like it and you get it for £324 on sale. I love the TW Steel ones too especially the brown strap black face one with brown writing but will get one another time
Have you looked at any Seiko watches? They cover a wide price range and seem to be fairly well regarded even if they mostly do quartz stuff, which imo who gives a %$%& really if it's quartz or automatic if you like the watch that's what matters
Try looking at Steinnhart.... If you can stretch to another hundred or so you can get their Ocean one which is a copy effectively of the Rolex Submariner style watches: they even do one with the 'Pepsi' dial like the Rolex.... Normally come with an ETA auto movement as well.... They've just released a Titanium version as well which is pretty nice.. £450 with a Soprod auto movement with a display back as well... Nice watch for the ££

have you looked at any hamilton watches? they do some really nice autos and 2nd hand they are a good buy, nice swiss watch for your budget. I owned a few in the past and cant fault them at all for the price. Other options I would get a modified seiko like one of the FF mods which are nice
