250 Can a boost leak trigger fuel cut?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by CaptainHavok, Jun 21, 2020.

  1. Replaced a leaking dump valve a few days ago with a blanking plate.

Also found a leak from the lower pipe going to the sound generator (where it connects underneath the first boost sensor). Havent fixed that 100% but the leak was easy to manipulate by moving the pipe, so i fixed it with some zip ties to stop it flexing much under boost.

Anyway i have had an intermittent fuel or ignition cut for years which i have tried to track down. Since fixing the leaks the car has behaved for half a tank of gas though.

Could see fuel cut happening in a MAF sensor car, but would have thought MAP sensors wouldn't be so confused by a leak.

After all theese years i'm hesitant to call the job jobbed but crossing fingers and toes. :nomouth:

  2. Also if anyone has the part number for that sound generator pipe, would be sweet!
