My 250 is very shortly due it's cam belt renewal (currently done 70k) Can anyone give my an idea of the cost of this and maybe recommend somewhere close to me that can carry it out? I live in pontefract nr Leeds. Thanks.
Not sure about the cost. What Jamie says is probably correct. Go to RS tuning if you want a specialist to do it.
I paid 499 all in for mine from K-tec about a month ago. They revised their pricing as it was 600 a few months before.
I was charged £685 for Timing and aux belts. pulleys, tensioners and water pump. Work was carried out last month. That was Evans Halshaw Durham. However The Sunderland branch quoted me £1400.
Think I'm going to go with diamond motors (thanks scoobyr) as my car is also due a service and they do the belt including dephaser plus oil and filter change for £550. Has anyone got any experience with these guys?
Only other option is speak to Adam at Nissan Pontefract. If you say to him what price Diamond do it for I'm 100% sure they'll try to get close if they can with it. I've never heard anything bad about Diamond though, I'm pretty sure Mick? I think his name is has an account on here and posts now and then on some of the more technical threads.
Mick is superb, party of the holy trinity in my eyes with Mark Black and Fred Hopkins. My cars have never ventured out of those three's magic hands.
Such a shame fred has stopped now, he was the only one that worked on my 172, even though he was miles away!
Cannot recommend Mick @ Diamond Motors enough. Only just got my 250 (booked in with him already for service and inspection), but he has looked after my Clio 182 for the past 18 months with absolutely faultless service and is properly down to earth, no one man should know quite so much about Renault's mind.. Its slightly scary!
