If you leave your car with the garage to get this changed, is it common that you ask that they keep the old belt as proof that it has been changed? How would one know?
I'd ask them to,and the tensioner etc But if you take it somewhere reputable they'd probabaly keep it for you,without asking anyway. Take to a specialist if you can
I took mine to a specialist. I didn't think to ask. In hindsight I don't think I would either. He is a reputable guy. I wouldn't want to insult his professionalism. A dealer on the other hand.....
