Burnt Orange 225

  1. Hi you lot,

So I finally found myself a 225, came up from a ph1 172 which I loved, but was just a bit too small for me, so wanted something a bit bigger but still fun to drive, and settled on a 225.

This is the little gem that the Megane had to replace.

So I got hunting and found a bit of a bargain on eBay, needed the gear linkage sorting as was stiff side to side and just generally tarting up a bit, so I bit the bullet and got on a 4 hour train journey from Maidstone to Birmingham, worst case I'd have wasted £70 on a train ticket.

This is what I was going to see, a burnt orange ph1, 106k on the clocks, belts done last year and a years ticket, I gave the guy £1750 and off I went on my journey home.

All the way home no issues at all, 3 hour motorway drive, breezed it. Thought I'd got a steal of a car, wasn't till the next day that it threw a tcs warning at me, restarted the car and it disappeared, so thought nothing of it, few days passed, it had gone in to limp mode a few times which was annoying, then it went full limp mode, wouldn't come out of it, sent it off to Ren7oaks, who I can't rate more highly, called on Thursday eve to say the throttle body had died, called again on Monday morning to say it's ready to be picked up

And since then, it's been a gem, 4 new rainsport 3s fitted, tracked up, and I'm loving it. Still a cheap one even after I've paid for repairs, so all good.

Managed to give it a proper clean today, safe to say it needed it

And that's where it stands now, hope y'all like it

  3. Thanks mate, it's not bad, got a few bits that need sorting, but I'm generally very happy with it.

    thanks
I don't clean it as much as i should, basically it's my track day car and not much else, not a daily driver.
The outside is pretty much as i bought it, it's the inside and under the bonnet bits i have been playing with.

  9. the pic on your drive looks mint. Colour is lovely. Needs decent wheels though

  10. Pictures make it look more money than it really is haha but that picture is a good one
Does need better wheels, ideally would like the F1 style ones, but not fancying the prices, so probably just refurb these and give it a bit more lows and it'll be alright hopefully

  11. I like the wheels on it. I think that they suit it. If it was mine id refurb them and spend the money elsewhere. Keep it standard looking but with bigger power. Exhaust, filter, remap, springs, FMIC. Has it got anything currently?

  12. I like them tbh, saw another one when I was looking, these wheels, a nice drop, and looked properly smart.
It's got a mid box chop, a garage it's been to said its got a decat, but I do need to check as they wouldn't let me under the ramp to see for myself, also got a cone filter and a forge recirc valve. Apart from that it's standard as far as I'm aware.
Thinking of decent springs and a front mount and then a map in the future and I'll be happy.

  13. Small update, got rear box cut out today, so now its straight through with just the cat left. Took it to a tunnel to do a noise test as i can't really hear it in the car, and it sounds awesome! Will get a video later on.

  14. I thought that was you the other night in strood meet.. Remember going past toysrus in the Clio with my old Fabia?
