Broken down megane

  1. Helped out a couple of lads tonight after my dad seen them broken down about a minute away from my house, I've worked on cars most my life so thought I'd pop over to see if I can be of any help.
The driver told me he lost the clutch pedal and it's basically sitting at the floor so checked the engine bay and the pipe had come off at the slave cylinder, worse thing was I've done a fluid change on my RS and I know there a nightmare to bleed.
I went home to get some fluid and decided to bleed it using my finger over the bleed nipple and getting one of the lads to pump the pedal because I had no eazibleed kit, anyway after almost a litre of fluid later we got some pressure back in the system, it popped out a few times from the actual slave cylinder but gravity bleeding wasn't working so had to use the pressure method.
it worked but was not perfect by any means, good enough to get them home (hopefully).
you guys are probably thinking why I'm writing about this and I wouldn't have till the guy told me he was driving the vehicle to Romania and he got a new clutch, slave cylinder fitted along with a full service only a few days ago, I told him to take the car back, I could see oil everywhere, clutch pipe was loose, I'm glad I do my own work, it's getting really hard to find decent mechanics nowadays that don't charge an arm and a leg. I've never had a renault till now or worked on any, apart from my RS but why are Meganes so awkward to bleed. That's my little rant over just hope the 2 lads make it home
