I've no idea if this is normal (it is a Renault, after all) but when I'm driving along a breeze comes in through the driver's side window switch panel. I've no idea if any other switches do this but it threw me the first time I noticed and I've just put up with it. It's most noticeable at motorway speeds (when the breeze can be felt a couple of inches from the panel) but it generally does it all the time. I'm not sure if it is related but the door in question is rusted at the bottom, which can't just be sprayed over - so I bought a bare door skin to spray and fit when it becomes a real eyesore (currently it only runs up about 3/4" up at its worst and is only really noticeable when the car is freshly cleaned). I mainly wonder... if air is coming out then air is getting in, which must be bad for aerodynamics (thus - fuel economy)?
Yeah my hand needs to be above the switches to notice (it's not like having a window open) but surely it means that the door seals are pants?
Same here, I get it with mine. More noticeable with the panny roof tilted as I guess that increases the thru-flow of air. Just think of it of 'French' a/c
So it's not just my dodgy door then. I wonder if economy and speed wouldn't be better if gaps were sealed? Haha.
