Break Warning Displayed

  1. Im getting a Brake System warning coming up on my dash occasionally? The strange thing is if my cars parked on a hill facing down it displays warning then goes off.
If I'm going down hill it comes on them goes ..... just seems to be when it's going down hill? Really bizarre.

  2. Check brake fluid levels

  3. Yeah as above, low fluid level which could be a sign of worn out pads and discs, as the pistons have to extend further.

    Get it checked out

  4. Ive just recently had a similar problem on mine,

It turned to be corrosion on the nearside rear disc, apparently there is a magnetic ring that a sensor detects picks up on, as my discs were badly corroded the sensor was throwing up a fault.
Renewed the discs job done and happy days.
The rear discs are well known for rusting this according to my mechanic.

  6. Thanks for all the above.
The rear discs are pretty shot and need replacing now really. I'll order up new rear discs, change them and also do a full bleed and fluid top up.
If it's warning going down hills makes me think it could be a fluid level warning as said. Thanks guys

  7. Topped the brake fluid up and so far so good! No brake warning light or stop symbol. Great!

  8. Be careful that if you do now replace worn out pads and discs that the new fluid level doesn't spill over, because it's highly corrosive, but I'm sure you already know
