250 Braking System Fault

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by sonyboy, Dec 19, 2016.

  1. Had cambelt changed 2 weeks ago, ABS message came up and got after a few re-starts. Now a red "braking system fault" light has appeared? Any ideas what this could be?

  2. Mine does exactly
Mine does exactly the same only stays on for a short time, also says STOP its a bit disconcerting.

  3. Check brake fluid level

  4. I ve done that, the level is up to where it should be..
Seems to happen at low revs..

  5. I think your best bet is to connect it to OBD2 and see what fault code it reads, so you know where to look.

  6. ABS module.

  7. If it's this, you should check if the drain plugs are working as they should, they are the small holes in the plastic corners under the window wipers.

If they get blocked water can build up and cause problems

  8. Checked brake fluid and its showing at max.... Next is to connect it to obd2 at garage to get it checked out

  9. I ve been to my local car guru and he has looked at various different things,
It turns out I need new discs all round so now its a question of what to buy and where from?
    Cheers for the replies.
