175 DCI Brakes not what they were

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by L-1011, Feb 21, 2017.

  1. Notice my stoppers aren't biting or pulling up as well as usual.

Had a quick look and pad material seems good still on the front. Not measured the discs but they should be fine also.

New rear pads and discs just before Xmas.

    Changed the fluid last Easter.

    I do high miles (2k a month).

Will go over it at the weekend but anyone got any quick win ideas or know the minimum thickness for front discs?

  2. Glazed discs maybe ? Find a quiet dual carriageway and do a few 60-30 as hard as you can without triggering the ABS. Make sure there is no traffic around. 3.00am ideal...

  3. Plausible. I've been taking it easy of late because of a sticky swivel bearing, blowing downpipe, congested traffic, constant rain....

Hmmm. I'll see what I can do [emoji1303]

Drive it like you stole it for a couple of days, it sounds like it needs it :sunglasses:
