265 BRAKES | non-cup vs cup front brake pads

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Mircea, Apr 3, 2019.

  1. Hi,

I've been scratching my head for more than 2 weeks on this and thought maybe somebody here could help me out.

So, there are two codes for the front OE brake pads:

    410609317R (non cup)
    410603303R (cup)

There should be no problem in the compatibility as the brake caliper is the same, my question is what's the bloody difference between these two.

    Two clear pictures I've found:

Thanks in advance for any answer !

  2. Nope, both of the above codes supply the needed amount for the front, diff in price is not that big, I for one am intrested if there is any compound difference.

  3. I wouldn’t spend too much time and effort getting familiar with factory pads, they’re gonna let you down first time you ask anything of them other than shopping duties. There’s a wealth of aftermarket pads that deliver the correct stopping power those lame Brembo’s should have done

  4. I reckon somebody would have say that , issue for is that there are so many options and I can hardly make up my mind...eventually I said, ok OE it is. Couldn't find specific reviews or comparisons of available options.

  5. Good find, pop back if need to upgrade, until then enjoy

  6. I found standard 265 cup pads fine for road use. I run CL 5+ Pads on road and track, would put standard pads back on the car over the winter months though.

  7. I do maybe 30 minutes of track / year, aside from that only fast road use, found the old pads fine, initial bite (cold bite) tends to go after 15-20 minutes though, a lot of dust but overall, price VS performance, I think I did a good choice, front and back ~160e both OE . As always thanks for the input guys !!! :relaxed:
