Brake trouble

  1. Having an issue on the dci175. When braking from high speeds, there's a front end shake /judder. Seems to be intermittent, and worse with moderate braking.
Took it out at the weekend and did a series of hard stops, to see if it was pad deposits, but no luck. Any ideas?

  2. Warped discs?

  3. Pad transfer

  4. This

Discs very rarely warp, they just end up with large deposits of pad material bonded too them.

What the last two have said basically is what i was going to post. Warped discs are incredibly rare.

  6. As said, I've already gone through a few hard stops to eliminate any pad transfer. Car spends majority of time driving slowly into London. I'd be amazed if they've had enough heat to get severe pad transfer. The vibration is severe enough to shake the steering wheel.

  7. Check and see if the pistons are returning. One could be stuck out I've had that on a car before

You don't need to get them hot to get pad deposits, the XP10's i run will start to deposit if they are not used hard

  9. Even with standard pads?

I couldn't tell you for sure as it has been a long time since i ran standard pads.

  11. Might not be the brakes, I've seen this caused by track rod ends and bushes although on a different car. It's worth getting it properly checked

  12. Thanks, will do.

this, could even be a hub issue as mine did it when my hub was knackered and the link bolt loosened.
