iv had this brake squeak for a while now, its every time i brake at a slow pace ie town driving but fine when on main roads. sometimes it makes a squeak when brakes aren't applied as if its slightly stuck on. its the drivers side front brake. any ideas? not enough copper grease? cheers
Give them a clean, a little copper grease goes a long way, put it on the edges too, see if a pad edge is catching the lip if so a little filing to round the edge of the pad should help
ok mate ill try the copper grease, bit of a pain as there fairly new discs and pads. just the drivers side tht has this problem tho.
Ah they are new. You just need to get them bedded in, go on a drive and hammer the brakes hard you will find when you next go back to slow traffic they are fine
well i say fairly new, id say there bedded in after 5k haha but i will give them a good greasing see if it works
I'm no expert but I been told most performance pads squeak at low speeds I've the ferodo ds5000 on mine and they squeak a small amount when on slow
Mine were replaced this time last year with OEM disks and pads, they tend to squeak in the same low reds you refer to when they are cold. When they have been used in a spirited manner and they are hot squeaking stops . I just thought it was what sports brakes do.
i thought it might have been that too just alot of folk say theirs dont squeak. its not rele that much of a bug bear for me just thought to ask
Yeah from the rears! Mine does this all the time - just nip he brake and it's honk central - only ever from the rears in mine though
Yeh rears only, is it the ABS self checking I've read about? Or just fecking noisey brakes? Only happens in the morning going down the drive tho!
Abs self checking is normally like a thumping noise that lasts 5 seconds or so... when you get to 6mph..
