Brake refresh

  1. Looking at doing a refresh of my front brakes, minus a caliper refresh if i get all the stuff in the list below do people think i will be sorted for a trip to the nurburgring in September? do people know of cheaper places to get the stuff from?

  2. Ktax are double the price of most places for the discs! That's shocking!

Also I have the DS2500 and don't really rate them. My money would be going elsewhere.

  3. To what Chris? Ds1.11?

    What's wrong with the ds2500's?

  4. Ds1.11 pads FTW

I've had a couple of sets of these now, it's the same pad compound that cup cars run too.

Last ages, you can brake late and hard and get no fade and fairly low dust.

Ds2500 were great on 197 and 1*2 but a lot of Meg owners don't seem to rate them compared to the ds1.11 and seeing as I do track work I didn't want to gamble all and end up with a pad I was confident in especially as there not exactly cheap.

Also jjc race and rally do ds1.11 for 156 if you email them

  5. Definitely dodge the DS2500. CL RC5+ or RC6 get my vote. Can buy them directly from CL themselves.

  6. Everyone above has beat me to it. I ran rc5 on my Clio that were emmense. Fell apart but they were good! Ds2500 just seem a bit overwhelmed on the meg. Better than OEM but not by much imho.

  7. cheers guys, exactly what i was looking for! i'll update my list for payday

  8. anyone know which pads to order from carbon lorraine? they appear to work in part numbers rather than car details? i know i want RC5+ just don't know which set to order

  9. DS2500 do fine for me but mines just a road car so it will probably never test the limits of the brake set up.

I'm running HC brembo front discs, DS2500 on front, standard rear discs and pads, good ridge braided lines and ATE fluid.

Perfect for the road if you ask me. No squeal and there's not copious amounts of brake dust up my car and on my wheels.

  10. that sounds decent only issue is i need the performance for the ring and too many times in the past have i gotten near the end and just felt like i can't stop haha

  11. You'll need a pad change after that map doubt anyway so put some track focused ones on for ring and then some more civilised ones on once you return.
