Upgrading my brakes over he next couple of weeks. Putting two piece discs up front coupled with DS2500 pads. This is in prep for the Ring and Spa in September. What's everyone's recommendations for upgrading brake fluid? I've read a lot about Motul RBF600 etc. Would you need a full two litres to flush the system and refill? ATE was the other option I should have posted. How many litres, is two enough? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I used 2l on mine last week. That was for a flush and several bleeds with the ezibleed. I needed several as i forgot to close the bleed nipples on the fronts as i started on the rears lol
I've always used Motul RBF 600, always been brilliant, never boiled over. Sent from my E6653 using Tapatalk
I use Castrol SRF, perhaps overkill but having had no pedal into a heavy braking zone I don't want to repeat the experience. I find 1L is plenty (usually about 750ml) to do the brakes. Also remove the air deflector plastic flaps below the car in front of the front arches, if not already removed (they're riveted on). These reduce air flow to the brakes, so best rid of them on track.
Does that actually cool the brakes more ? I've heard a few people remove them but does it actually do anything ? What did Renault put them there for I wonder ?
I've uses both super blue and RBF660, and there is no comparison. RBF660 is so much better! No contest in my eyes
Yes Oli is right, it does. Which surprised me but I quite admire Renault though for doing in that. It won't make a big difference to brake cooling though.
Surely it will make a bit of difference ? Renault wouldn't say it otherwise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would say very little. If you're going to cook your pads it might delay the inevitable by half a lap but that's about it IMO. I mentioned it to one of the engineers at work and he laughed... What you need is ducting from the front, which will help about 50 times more.
I would buy a bit more just to be safe. I used about a litre and a half to be sure it was a full flush through and none of the old was left in the system Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
