225 Brake Fluid Change

1. Evening all!

Is anyone aware of a rough guide to bleeding the brake fluid on a 225? Can't find anything other than non specific guides via Google.

Cheers

2. Easy, bleed each caliber topping up as you go, got mine to do on Saturday ,half hour job with a mate pushing the peddle down for you

3. u open the bleed nipple as the other person pushes the peddle and close the nipple before they take their foot off??

is that how it works?

4. That's it, 3 or 4 pumps on each calliper and keep the resoviour full so keep checking it.

5. Just remember there is a nipple on the inside and outside on the front brembo calpiers

6. oh really? im just gonna get one of them machines that suck the fluid out lol

7. Keep the ignition off.
Use a section of clear pipe which is a tight fit to the nipple and down into a jar (I usually submerge the end of the pipe in a small amount of fluid).
Then as Steve says a few pumps and hold the pedal down whilst someone opens the nipple.
Re tighten the nipple whilst the peddle is still held down.
Repeat this a few times until no air bubbles come out.

You could also do it with a one man bleed kit.

Remember to keep checking the reservoir and topping up.

DO NOT LET IT GO BELOW MINIMUM as it may pull air in.

Be really careful with the nipples as they corrode into the calliper with the difference in metal. I took mine off the car to remove them from the caliper so I could apply heat as needed.

8. Great feedback y'all! Lol

Will be ultra careful with the nipples (as always!) Jokes aside, I'm going to examine the rear caliper that is sticking, see if it needs a new part or can be repaired, and have it off the road while I save up to revive all 4 corners. Dodgy brakes almost cost me my life once, won't be happening again.

Any opinions on MTec brake discs?
