Brake fitting road block!!! Help! Mk2

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by richmeg, May 5, 2017.

  1. So my vehicle is a Mk2 Ph1 225 with Cup Chassis . . .

    I bought a set of brakes from a Breakers Yard which came off an 07 F1 r26 230 Edition.

    However I have just discovered that the rear discs don't fit!? The diameter of the wheel bearing is too large for the hub shaft/spindel. I thought it was strange the 'How to Guide' I was using said to use a 36mm Socket to remove the hub nut when I only needed a 30mm Socket.

    Can someone please confirm the above and what rear discs I need for my vehicle, I'm assuming it is these;

    Urgent help required, car is in bits on the drive!

    yeah your have the 25mm bearing.

    why are you fitting second hand brake discs?

  3. Are you suggesting I could press a smaller inner diameter bearing into those disks?

    There is hardly any wear on them or the pads and the calipers are painted red and MINT condition. So I was gonna just fit the whole package.
