225 Boot wont open!

  1. So today i decided i wanted to take off the bottom exterior part of the boot lid for the paint work to be sorted out.

I had to undo the 2x torx parts of the boot lock to get to a hidden screw but didn't disconnect this and put the screws back in as i would still need to use the boot lock. Job done.

Managed to remove it all, unclipped the wiring loom for the boot button/reg lights and away i was.

Now i shut the boot once all had done as i had the button on my keys to open it back up when needed for now.. not working. Crawled into the boot, connected up the small loom for the boot button and still nothing. The connector for the boot lock is still in and fine also.

Any ideas? i'm stuck, i can't open the boot, not even sure how to manually get the catch out at all.

    Cheers.

  2. My button wasn't working but it was due to water ingress. I just took it apart and resealed it with silicon.

  3. I came across that when having a search around but the fact that it has been working 100% since i took it all apart and that the keyfob button isnt working has made it confuse me even more!

  4. So it turns out to be a dodgy connection on the boot lock connector, I managed to get my fingers through the small gaps and managed to undo the connection as i was it opened up.

Playing around with it, if the connector is fully in it doesn't work, if its half on and not clipped in it works.

Not the end of the world, i'll have a clean up of the connections in the week, if it doesn't work fully in i'm sure i can make it stay in its place half on somehow!

    Cheers
