Hi there, My boot has stopped opening, neither key nor the button on the door will release it. I'm new to the Mégane and just wondering if this is a common issue, could it be seized? Any tips for opening? Thank you
There isn't a key in the boot lock. Its a common fault, they fill with water and corrode the contacts. Prize the button unit out, pull the plug out of the switch and short the two connectors, that should release the boot lid. you need the car to be unlocked
The boot can be opened from the inside, you need a small screwdriver. Cimb into the boot vis the rear seat, you'll see a rainbow shaped slot at the bottom. inside this slot is a white catch. use the screwdriver to open the boot. I've not done this on a mk3. However I do have access to one. It the same as the mk2. and that work's.
