Hi guys, My car failed the MOT and one of the things it failed on was the boot keeps popping open every now and again. Any ideas please?
Remove the boot switch and check/clean the contacts. Mine was doing this a while back, there was a build up of crap between the contacts on the switch causing the boot to pop open as you said. Could also be a bad earth connection but it's more likely to be the switch itself.
Common issue in many Renaults since a lot use the same button. Try the methods above, but look out for splits in the rubber cover as water can get in and then often it's wrecked. .
