Boost gauge (plumbing & wiring)

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by T&biskits, May 30, 2015.

  1. Just purchased a boost gauge. The instructions for fitting are crap, so i presume `T` into vacuum near inlet manifold?Instructions say to `T` into pressure regulator/serge tank pipe?
As for the wiring i havent got a clue as its an electronic one, but if someone can advise , it would be much appreciated( 4 wires that need to find battery+/-, lights & ignition).

  2. T into the pipe coming off the recirculating valve and get your ignition earth and lights off the cigarette lighter dont see why you would need a battery plus to be honest as theres no need for it to power up unless running so id just put it on the ignition feed too.

  3. If i wire it there, then im gonna need another 3 foot of wire as there is only about 6 inches & i want it on the dash. Wire is thin as, & i haven`t got a clue as to what gauge it is.

  4. Assuming its not a digital gauge the wiring will only be for the light in it.

Youll need to run new wires, but you could tap into the light around the 12v cigarette point.

  5. It also has led screen with various functions on it. (Greddy multi D/A series).

  6. For someone that aint very techy as you shared on your dongle post, why did you buy the most complicated boost gauge in the world ROFL
why not a nice simple analogue jobby, just boost pipe on and lights lol

  7. Dependant upon placement then you could take a feed from the stereo power, or the 12v cigarette power.

  8. Me me all over really. Always one for making my life difficult/awkward.
