Bluefin remap help

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by D7DPJ, Jun 27, 2021.

  1. Hi all, so my new car comes with the bluefin remap and handheld device.

I've read mixed reviews about people.saying the maps run lean and some saying no issues. Spoke to bluefin to grab some info and ofcourse they said you won't have any issues. 1000 of meganes have it etc etc. Anyway they said the map was put on in 2014 which means the cars done 50k miles with it on.

Do I need to be worried or do I take the fact that 50k miles and the car runs spot on is a sign that all is good.

    Some advice would be great.

  2. Hi Dan
depends what advice you are looking for.... Does the car have any noticeable issues?

    Your options are:
    Leave it as is
    Remove map for standard
*above* + add a new map from tuner of your choice

I'd get the oil changed pronto if you haven't already.

  3. No issues whatsoever, however what should I be looking out for.

Car had an oil change 2000 miles ago however was a year ago. Looks brand new however I'll be replacing it within the next week with fuchs race pro.

Ideally it would be great to leave it on, if not it would be a case of take it off and wait a while for a remap.

  4. It sounds like there are no issues, which is good.
Have you got RS Monitor, or any way to look at post pressure?

You want the car to pull throughout the gears to the redline, there should be no surges, flat spots or dips. Take a look at my remap thread, I had a poor remap and experienced these issues.

Regarding the remap itself, your car has had 50k miles of additional stress, changing the oil as you are is a good thing.

  5. I've got rs monitor, if you could guide me at what I should be looking at and what I should do I'll take a look and do a video.

    Huge thanks again spoon

  6. put the first screen on that shows boost, you want the boost to build in a fairly consistent fashion, nothing flickering up and down as you accelerate.

will also be interesting to see your boost figure

  7. Thanks for the video. That's what mine was doing prior to having the new map.

It didn't however in first or second, it was consistent.

Take it to a rolling road, see what the graph looks like and go from there.

If I can workout how to safely take a video of mine, I'll post it.
