R26 Bleeding brakes ( new braided lines )

  1. Fitted some HEL braided lines to the megane the other day , quite happy bleed them out pedal was okay, not amazing but good !

Drove about 100miles and the pedal went crap again, so this morning I bled them again , both rear brakes and both sides of the fronts, inner first then outer, pedal feels better than ever , but still not rock solid like my 182 with braided lines. :/

I'm was going to use a full pressure bleeder on Saturday as I've just been vacuuming them of the caliper nipple and topping up , but read just that there's something on diag (clip) for brake bleeding ?

Am am I wasting my time and need clip ? Or shall I just crack on ?

  2. Nah the clip will help u out if u suspect you've got air into the abs pump, the correct procedure is , RHR LHF LHR RHF
i had a similar issue when bleeding mine, the sequence is key

  3. I'm pretty sure the sequence on Clip starts left hand rear and works round in a clockwise order

And if you've got air in the system the only way to get it out is with a Clip to operate the ABS

  4. Have you checked the pistons are all working and the pads are not jammed with a bit of corrosion ?

  5. I did it so furtherest away from master cylinder so , RHR LHR ETC as you say mate :worried:

It had new front D+P , rears aren't great but free enough!

Will take the rears apart and pressure bleed it , if that's still not great , I'll get Clip on it I guess ! :@

  6. Or an RS tuner with the relevant module.

  7. Got air in the abs sounds like, need clip really to pump cycle or eezibleed and a good couple of litres to flush.

I did the same on mine when switching calipers, cleared all the air, constant fluid for ages then a massive bout of air again. Just takes time but when it was done my brakes were better than ever

  8. I keep reading how bad they are to bleed , going try it under pressure if there's air (excluding the abs) that'll get it out haha !

If not I'll have try clip ! Didn't know you could do it with RS tuner though! I'll see what's easiest , don't think anyone I know has a RS tuner :/ I sold mine a while back :@
