Black Plastic Paint

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by Trophyboy, Apr 2, 2016.

  1. Can anyone recommend a good black plastic paint??

I want to paint the roof trims and engine bay plastics as they are looking very tired and worn.

Probably satin would be best instead of Matt??

    Cheers

  2. Bit of old engine oil on a rag rubbed in is the best.

  5. Use Upol Plastex 5b
I use it at work in restoration, it's the best

  6. Thanks lads. Ordered up the Upol Plastex 5 from express paints tonight.

  7. what black did you go for. I need to paint my rear bumper trims. Also what primer are you going for. I only saw a Upol 20:08 plastic primer in a 1ltr tin or a high 5 primer?

  8. Hi mate.

    I ordered the following:

    Plastex 2 Adhesion Promotor
    Plastex 5 Black

I'll be coating the rear bumper trims, front bumper grills, rear wiper blank trim, scuttle plastics, wing plastics and all engine bay plastics. Hope it's as good as it says on the tin.

I believe you only need the primer & texture finish if you've actually had to repair plastic and need that texture back.

    I ordered from here pal.

    Hope this helps mate.

  9. Thanks mate. I'll order some.

  10. Roof trims aren't plastic if that helps. I used normal satin black over a plastic adhesion promoter on the other trims.
