Thinking about it aren't they known as slow blow fuses?

They might be called slow blow fuses, but they will blow in a couple of seconds as the ordinary ones are almost instant.

  4. Test them with a test light or multimeter. You can buy the the fuses from a factor or pay through the nose at renault.

Thanks for the reply's rather than take it all apart i went over it with a multimeter as all the fuses looked good.
Turned out there was no output on the distributor pack so as this part was clearly damaged I removed the casing and yep blown inside.
What I'm not impressed with is as the live rail is exposed Renault must see that this could happen but no fuse for the disributor it is designed internally like a fuse which means replacing the whole thing ( not something you can just pick up from your local car spares) so be a lot more careful than I was lol or disconnect battery regardless of what your working on under the bonnet.
