  1. Hello Guys I'm a new member, just looking for anyone that has a set of BC type Br coilovers fitted. I would really like to ask you some questions and hopefully you could shed some light on my situation.

    Many thanks.

  2. Loads on here have them fitted, ask away, they will be along shortly and have them answered for you , welcome along

  3. wonderful thanks steve, well my issue is with the coilover fitment I'm in a current battle With BC because of the fitment of the collar on the coilover against the upright.... I have pictures but unsure how to make them the correct file size. I have been in contact with k-tec because they are a supplier and fitter of this item..... they are trying their best to help me out with regards to this situation as they can't recall having this issue with how the coilover seats. I have sent the images to BC to which they have responded with similar images with the same fault saying its the correct fitment. For some reason I can't help but feel they are trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
if anyone has any images of their coilovers fitted or could tell me how to upload a picture that is 1mb? that would be great help.

    cheers.

  4. BC are telling me this is the correct fitment and this is how they have designed it to seat???? can anybody tell me if this is the case with theirs??
    thanks guys.

  5. Does the bolt go through the tab from the shock at the rear of the hub in the correct place? (the bolt pictured)

I have no experience with these but it doesnt look right. I would expect the shock shape to butt up nicely to the top of the hub.

  6. The bolt does locate to clamp the rear hub up, but I'm still not sure that is correct..... BC aren't your cheap Ebay coilover kit!! I'd of thought they'd of engineered them to fit flush! BC and Kamracing who supplied them to me have said its okay as its only a secondary safety feature and the torquing up of the bolt to clamp it in place will suffice... although
K-tec can't recall this being an issue. I'm waiting to hear back from their workshop manager.

  7. I'll get Not normal Dan to comment, he's the guy for advice

  8. Cheers steve, or if you know anyone else that has them fitted that wouldn't mind sharing an image of their fitted set would be ideal

  9. Yeah that's how they are, the pinch bolt goes thorough the bracket on the damper sleeve and then clamps the hub

  10. Hmm.
I'd have expected a flush fit too like you say.
Its surely a waste of time for the collar to be there if it doesnt sit flush?

  11. Really....... what a s**t design why would they of engineered them that way?? do you have a set fitted dan?

  12. Yeah I've got a set, and I've fitted a couple now.

Tbh yeah it doesn't look pretty but it really makes no odds whatsoever as the sleeve still butts up to the hub at the front, the bracket locates at the back and the bolt passes through and clamps up

  13. I totally understand that, just seem like a real crap design.... i know the standard suspension doesn't even carry a collar it just torques up. Never mind, now i know for sure its okay I can rest easy haha, Dan by any chance do you have the side damping extenders for the rear? its an absolute pig to jack it up just to adjust the damping. Thanks for giving me closure !!

  14. Tbh I'd imagine to machine that collar on an angle would be a bit of a pig to do/setup for the machine to do

No mate, it is a pig but I can adjust mine without jacking up with me fingers haha

  15. Yeh I can see it would of been hassle for them although It wouldn't of taken much to shim it just for cosmetic purposes?! Im going to order a set of the side adjusters and have it come in the spare wheel compartment. How are you finding the coilovers? Have you found a happy medium with the damping?

  16. Great tbh mate, I have the 7kg front and 4kg rear springs.

I am upping to a 7kg though as i do quite a few track days an the 7kg rears seem to carry the speed a little smoother through faster bends but I'll keep the 4's as a wet trackday/road setup.

Damper rates, yeah tend to have them around 8-10 on the front and 4-6 on the rear for the road and on track I adjust to suit

  17. Im running 7/4 too, thats a low damping? I'm 18 front and 22 rear and finding it as comfortable as the eibach cup springs but with the performance there when needed. Maybe i need to play around with them more? why is it you have the damping firmer at the front than the rear even with the higher spring rates at the front?

  18. I drive a lot of rural roads and when carrying speed it the rear is too hard it tends to skip about a lot as there's less weight

  19. I scratched head abit wondering surely should have made collar but it's still does its job like that..
7/4 seems so soft compared to my 8/8 on race car lol.. Thinking of giving a 7 on rear a test at some point as bump and lift off oversteer on slicks with such a hard rear is savage sometimes
