Battery type/amp . . . just to be sure???

  1. Hey,

    Anyone changed their battery recently?

Had a search and nothing really come up on correct battery type/amp . . .

One of the more experienced forum members stated a '067 Battery' is the correct one.

    Anyone know?

    Thanks,

    Rich

  2. Which model car you on about I changed mine for a Bosch S4 works perfect. r26

  3. 06 Meg 225 Cup . . .

  4. Couldn't find anything on the correct battery type so put it in the hands of the Halfords 'mechanics' . . .

    Apparently they had 3 options, and chose a 075 type battery with 550amp/60Ah . . .

Just started the car a few times and starter motor seems to be turning over a lot more times before it fires.

Also I just locked it and walking away from the car the alarm went off, opened/locked it again and no repeat.

Perhaps a bigger battery required, certainly seemed small compared to the one that came out of it.

  5. 225 should be same size as r26. Best to go on euro car parts type in reg and search batteries that way. Easy enough to fit yourself. Wouldnt trust halfwits to do anything on my car.

  6. Search on most sites and 3 different types of battery come up and all differing amp's and years of warranty . . . think 10 different batteries came up in Eurocarparts . . .

On the bright side car is now firing up on the button and alarm is not sounding so must have acclimatised to new battery.

Also I checked and your Bosch S4 battery is the same size and spec as my Halfords one.

  7. From what I could find the standard battery is 240mm x 175 x 190. 600Ah and 60CCA.

  8. You sorted today Paul

  9. Where did you find that mate?

    The one I have fitted from Halfords is 242mm x 175 x 175. 550Ah and 60CCA.

So slightly smaller, I wonder it that will make a difference . . .

  10. only difference is the max. current, and the difference is small.. as long as your car starts fine in the cold, it's all fine...

  11. My car still has the original Renault battery so I googled the part number, 8200 377 297.
I'm annoyed I have to change it really.
