Car has been playing up for about 3 months now, even after renualt have had it three times! After hard acceleration when u ease of the battery light comes on and stop sign comes on, then it clears. Car has had a new battery, new alternator, and now a new computer module all done under warranty at main dealer. But the problem is still there, had to take head of the workshop out in it earlier for a test drive to make it happen again which it did atleast 4 times. (They have apprantly road tested it every time they had it ) and he now wants the car for a whole week. Renualt seem to be making a bit of meal of it to be honest and I think I've lost faith in them! Anyone else had this issue? Any help or suggestions would be great.
Id would hook up a bit of 2 core wire to the battery terminals and run it into the car to a multimeter and read the charge when driving it should be about 13.6 volts and see if it drops when the fault happens if it does then i would back up the main earth from the battery to the gearbox and then the chassis and see if that cures it. If you check the voltage and it doesnt drop id suspect bad signal from the alternator to the dash so would check wiring around the engine loom for rubbing etc. Also check the wiring on the starter it tight as it normally loops round to the alternator on most vehicles.
