225 Bastuck flexi section Mk2/Mk3

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by maece82, Jan 10, 2022.

  1. I've just bought a Bastuck flexi pipe for my Mk2 Megane. According the Bastuck page, there is the same flexi pipe listed for Mk2 and Mk3 Meganes.

Hence, there's an additional hanger near the flexi part. I think this hanger is used on the Mk3 Meganes only and it won't be of any use on a Mk2 Megane, right?

Do I have to cut this bracket off to install this flexi pipe in the Mk2 Megane?

    Thanks
    Marcel

you could leave there will still fit, wouldn't hurt to cut it though

  4. Perfect thanks a lot for this reply!
I'm going to cut it off then.

  5. Slightly off topic but is that a standard replacement? My flexi is split but I don't want to fit any aftermarket exhaust systems.

  6. No, this flexy section won't fit in between catalyser exit and OEM middle silencer inlet, as there is a simple pipe-in-pipe connection on the Bastuck flexy exit to the Bastuck middle silencer pipe, wheras on OEM flexy exit is kind of V-band flange.
