Aux belt change RS250

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Nick-ST, Aug 2, 2018.

  1. Evening all

Have any of you changed the auxiliary drive belt on a MK3 RS? For whatever reason the previous owner of my car had the cambelt done but not the aux belt. It is starting to look very tired and probably a little bit noisier than it should be. Have changed a few belts over the years. Just after any hints and tips before I attempt it next weekend

    TIA

    Nick

  2. Go in through wheels arch liner, I found much easier to rest long extension on an axle stand to apply force to tension pulley then slip old belt off and new on while holding tension, much easier with two people

  3. Thank you! No special tools needed I take it? The Renault kit I bought appears to have a new tensioner as well!
