Hi I picked up a r26 back in late October after selling my honda civic. The plan is to make a fast Road / Track car out of it! Since I bought it I gave it a service: oil filter, oil , air filter and new standard injectors. I also replaced the top engine mount as I was getting alot of juddering on idle. Since servicing it I haven't done anything apart from drive the thing and enjoy it. Well as we're on the verge of spring nows the time to start spending so money! Now firstly I bought some team Heko Wind deflectors, I've had these on all my cars and apart from the practicality of them I love the look they give. I then took the forge dump valve off which was on the car when o bought it and replaced it with a forge boost hose, with a forge blank plate fitted, I'll be getting a forge recirc in the future. Here's some pictures of when I first bought it. And recently
I have sent all the centre section of my dash away to be flocked so waiting for that to come back, I also got boardy (really nice guy who is willing to help) to send me out a short shit which I must say transforms the driving experience! This weekends job is replacing my o/s driveshaft as the bearing has given up. I plan on replacing the bearing on the old one and refurbing it to sell on.
Fitted my new driveshaft today, quite easy to do once you have removed the hub! Also changed the gearbox oil too as I don't think it's ever been changed and It made things easier to drop the gear oil. Painted the new shaft in hammerite before fitting Old shaft out, new in Hopefully getting a intercooler this week along with a Induction hose to fit in the coming weekend, still waiting on the dash to be flocked also.
Little collection happening Fitted my .R spoiler today, what a pita the adhesive is to get off! Got there in the end though! Next weekend I look to fit intercooler, splitter and hoses.
Thats what i used. Intercooler is only too jubilee clips to fit. Takes less than ten minutes. Looking goood
I went for a GPI as well, mentioned this to Paul at RS when booking everything in and he was not convinced they are any good but a few people have said they work well for the price. For the money they must be worth it compared to pay triple the price or more for a branded one
Exactly for the price I can get extra mods and maybe in the future a better intercooler if a second hand one pops up!
There was a guy on eBay who was selling intercoolers that were very good quality for circa 150ish, I had a winner racing one for about a year or so and there's nothing wrong with them. Before buying one off eBay, he was based on gloucester and the intercoolers looked like forge ones but without the logo, so was unsure if he was an employee/ ex employee selling stuff on the side etc. But from looking at inside of the cores they do look very basic/ cheap inside but they work well with no complaints from me when I had my cheap Chinese one, I think Andy has one and is running just over 300bhp on his so they can't be too bad!
Finished work early today so thought I would fit my induction hose, bit of a pita undoing the jubilee clip in the turbo but got there in the end!
Fitted my intercooler today, very easy to do, once I got the bed intercooler on I fitted my Cupra r splitter and sprayed my badge anthracite, looks alot better now!
Right I managed to grab a full miltek exhaust system off ebay the other day and it came Friday, I finished work a bit early so I decided to fit it! All went really well and managed to get it done in good time! Found the 2 exhaust tip didn't fit to well and the back one being lower then the other and not centre so I moded the bracket to fit and got it looking alot better! Also my flocked dash part FINALLY arrived! So I fitted them!
I think I paid £68 plus £12 postage for centre facia, clock surround, top Vent, dial binical and vents. Contact black sheep flocking and mention my name
Looking really nice mate were dos you get your spoiler from ? And how did you end up fitting it ? Thanks
And when you sent the boys off for flocking did you have to remove all the vents switches and air con buttons etc .
What's your flock like mate? Is it soft all over or rough where the glue is? Where did you get it done ? I've had some bits done and not sure if I was expecting too much...
They've done a good job, it's soft all over but one part has messed up but hopefully they're going to replace it!
