Anyone fitted Bonnet Gas Struts to a 225/R26

I made my own kit. Cost £12 off eBay for the parts.
Could do it for half if you only want one strut.

 

Do the raise the bonnet higher?

 

All I had to do was heat the scuttle panel and bend it a little for the struts to recess into.
I just got my blow lamp on it but if you want it tidy boiling water or a heat gun would do it nice.
Under my bonnet is well tatty so I wasn't bothered.


I used bmw e46bonnet struts

Yes only a little but you can fit them so it goes as far as it can if you want it too.

 

If you mount it using the other hole it should go a lot higher.

I'm not paying £40-£50 for something I can make up myself.
Would like to see how one of the kits fit though because the scuttle panel is a bit high.
