Anyone ever cleaned throttle body?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Simonas, Oct 15, 2015.

  1. Just been talking to a chap who specialises in RS Clios and said that cleaning the throttle body on older Clios often gives a sharp increase in acceleration and smoothness as they get all dirty with whatever crap goes through.

Has anyone done this on the meg and if so with what results?

    Thanks Simon

  4. Lol sorry mate. In my opinion it's definatly worth doing if you have a bit of spare time

  5. Sure it's worth doing - You need to have carburetor cleaner best in spray, and new throttle gasket from Renault, unscrew everything but be gentle and don't break/touch black hose clip it'll break when You'll try to unplug it. I didn't feel any difference after cleaning, but it definitely extend throttle life
