I am actually from Hong Kong, but do spend 1/2 time here in China (Guangdong, which is 2-hour drive to/from Hong Kong). Had been looking for a manual car as my daily ride. Sadly we don't have many choice here (I mean China). What I considered: Used BMW 1M, E90 325 manual (the only straight-6 manual available), Ford Focus ST At the end I have got myself a RS265. A proud decision I have made! Have driven one Megane II RS before, liked it very much. But this RS265 is my first Renault ownership. So I am pretty new to Renault world. Other cars I have are: E30 320is, Alfa 75 2.0TS, Porsche 993 C2S manual, BMW E90 M3 So I am pretty much a petrolhead! I am glad that I have joined this Megane RS community. Looking forward to interacting with you guys in the future!
Hello and welcome along Nice collection of cars you have, or have had in the past. I worked for a short while last year in Guangzhou - I didn't see any Renault Sport cars - they must be very rare in China I think?
Thanks! Very rare indeed. The city where I am located, Dongguan, the dealer here has not sold any Megane RS before. And the service centre here must haven't seen one before. I will join the China owner's chat group later on (if there's one), then will try to figure out the total number of RS's here.
Thanks! Short shift kit being the first on my list. The throw of the factory shifter is indeed quite long. I have also been trying to do toe-heel, but I find it quite difficult. Maybe I am more used to the floor-mounted throttle like the ones in BMW and Porsche. Maybe I need more practice
Welcome here, good to see people enjoying these brilliant cars in other segments of the world as well! That's a very nice collection of cars you have there! Congrats on the Meg and enjoy your stay here
Thanks for coming on board, great to see our reach is growing in China too. Post some more pics if you can!
