Another Driveshaft spacer question

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Chris14a, Aug 31, 2021.

  1. Hi

I currently have a driveshaft spacer fitted to my car which was fitted when I bought it.
My question is are people still fitting these as alot of the threads are abit older.
The car is on coilovers and used for track days. It has worn through the arch liners slightly on trackdays.

I am looking to replace the n/s driveshaft so can remove it at the same time if needed.
Is there a quick way of removing the driveshaft without stripping the full suspension?

    Thanks Chris

  2. Yes undo the ball joint on the bottom arm, undo one side of the small stabiliser link, undo the hub nut, Tie rod end and one side of the drop link. so you should now be able to pull the whole hub assembly towards you and pop the driveshaft out on the hub side, then just pull the other end out from the gearbox, make sure you drain the gearbox oil first.
