  1. As heartbreaking is it to think about the worst happened on Friday night. I was babysitting my bothers and sister when the loudest sound I ever heart struck.
It turned out to be a 72ft pine tree striking the ground inches between two houses and laid up the drive way, it consumed two cars. Mine being one of them.
I couldn't see my car under the tree at all only the lights flashing as the alarm went off every 5 mins crying to me.

Safe to say no one was hurt with a house full of kids and me!
I can't describe what the damage was so here are the pics...

  2. Really glad nobody hurt but also absolutely gutted for you mate....in fact, I'm gonna have a beer for you.

  3. Gutted for you, glad no one is injured.
Does not look fixable but you could always buy back and strip it, looks like a good way of recouping some costs.

  4. No way man that's just shit crack that feel for u big time mate what u gawne do with it

  5. Imagine if you was just getting in car or the kids was

only a car its insured least everyones ok

  6. Absolutely gutted for you as i said mate.
Luckily it never hit the house as well as the cars, and lucky that no body was in the car either.
I'd try to buy it back and strip it (If its profitable for you)

    HOLY SH*T.

thats horrible to see. but thank god none was in the car.... always another F1 out there for ya!

  8. Gutted for you.. saw it on FB and felt your pain.

  9. Luckily the man who owns the tree has woodland insurance, he is paying for everything. It was very lucky I was staying the night, can't even imagine how heavy that tree would be it would easily knock over the house if the wind changed direction! But not to dwell.

    Thank you all!
I will be buying the car back 100% and i will be keeping the engine (I checked and its safe and sound!). She has never ever let me down would be a waste to see that go.
Might put it in a clio depends what the out come is for money. Something needs that special factor like this one to capture my heart again to be honest.

good man, if i lost my car i'd always want parts of it in what i had next, you can still get rid of a fair few bits of it tbh, bar the shell obviously, and windows

seats will be worth some whack as will wheels, etc..

  11. 182 would be brilliant but would take more work to fit than the 197 i'd guess.

  12. Mate that's absolutely horrible. Glad you and your family are okay though.

Such a nice car though. Was only saying other day I wanted an meg in that colour.

  13. Yeah apparently on the 182's you either have to do some chopping to get the gearbox to fit or redrill the block and tap it to take the clio box. Can pick up 197's for a decent price these days

Saw that on Facebook the other day, it's horrible :worried: at least you're okay though.

  15. Gutted for you mate, ano its just a car but its something we all love and have soft spots for, thankfully everyone is okay, all the best mate

  16. Tons of potential indeed. The seats live to tell the tale unharmed just caked in glass, rear seats are basically brand new.
My old 106gti was written off and doubled what the insurance company quoted me to buy it off me by breaking it, i've spend loads on her and plenty of parts to sell off as you said .

Christ thats a big old tree to come down, i would be gutted but shit can be replaced. Glad no one was hurt.

  20. Really sorry to see that mate, but as others have said its a blessing that nobody was hurt.

Hope you find something else you like as much.

  21. Shit man, that was a bloody big tree! Glad nobody was hurt but must be gutting for you! Put the engine in a 5 turbo I say

  22. Oh no, I hope you hadn't installed the headlights?!?!

  23. I was just looking at your thread on projects...and then turned to this...gutted for you fella.

  24. Gutting news for you! As said buy it back and break it.

  25. Don't worry those are safe at home lol.

@all Is it too much effort for a 225 engine in a 182 clio?

  26. I put up a thread about it not long back and people were saying it's just a bit of a faf around

  27. Jesus mate, so sorry to see that!

Where abouts was this? The wind has been absolutely terrible down here recently but I haven't seen any trees come down!

Glad it is all being sorted and no-one was hurt though!

    What a shame!

Good news about the insurance though - New car = new project

I'll err.. ahem start writing a list of things I want to... ahem... rob...

  33. i may be interested in rear lights if they dont steam up

  34. Holy sheet dude! Glad everyone was ok! Gutted about the meg :worried:

  35. That's shocking mate!
Hows the passanger door? Probably no good but doesn't look too bad on the pics.
If your buying it back then I'm interested in the door pal

  36. Still no massive news, having to chase around myself this week get some progress.

100% the door mirror has been smased off the n/s door, when I have to go ahead I'll wash the good panels left and inspect for scratches etc. First shout on the door for you then .

I'll make a separate thread soon get the ball rolling for parts to sell, plan is for me to do a 197 conversion which I do have a mechanic mate who said he can do it .

  37. That's a real shame, such a beautiful car but fortunately this is why we buy insurance. As already mentioned first and foremost nobody was hurt.

  38. Sounds like a good plan

  39. Oh mate I've only just seen this, as a fellow 225 F1 owner I'm gutted for you pal, what a waste :worried:

Glad you are ok though pal.

To help sooth your financial pain, I'm desperate for the front bumper if/when you manage so get the car back...it'll be helping another 225 F1 live on

    Paul

  40. Thanks  Still no news zzzz.

I dont know how i'd even post a bumper to be honest? And it's cable tied on around the arches haha .
