Okay so the past few days I've noticed this sort of creaking/rattle sound is coming from somewhere in front of me while I'm driving... And it really is driving me nuts because it seems totally random at the moment. Not caused by going over bumps suddenly.. It seems to be vibration that causes it more. Ie driving over cobbles etc. Is there any common issues that sound like this? It sounds to me like its coming from the steering column, or the dash instruments?! Any help would be appreciated cause i think I might go insane..
I'm not sure exactly on the Mk3 but on the Mk2 the dash to windscreen join could cause this. I had some silicone spray that would stop it for a few months. Standard Megane fare I'm afraid.
Definitely seems internal, like somewhere in the dash. Maybe it will just go away.......? Wishful thinking haha. I suppose I can just turn the music up louder eh The seatbelt comment does remind me though, I need to plug the back ones in cause I can hear one of them vibrating off the leather after giving people a lift the other night!
Its not when your wife is in is it everytime my wife is in i get an annoying noise coming from her seat but only when she is in ;bit like a whining always moaning noise

Don't think its her seat. Happens when its just me in the car to. Unless its the drivers seat of course.. Annoying thing is you can't really predict when its going to happen, like some journeys I don't notice it at all.. Definitely seems like my side though. And easy son I'm only 23.. No quite married yet Haha.
Mine does this, I read on the other forum (that shall not be named here) that there is a plastic rivet/clip underneath the central vents that can be loose from the factory and is the most likely cause of the rattle. The fix requires the removal of the glovebox to get to the offending rivet and I really can't be bothered to strip it down.
Well good to know, although I doubt I'll be doing this either to sort the problem. Sounds A LOT of hassle. The state of the roads in Edinburgh just now really won't be helping the cause if it's anything loose.. It really is beyond a joke, must have some of the worst roads in the UK at the moment. I'm scared to drive my car even at 20 down most streets.. Sometimes avoiding certain streets all together. Only ever get to use the power when I venture out the city. Absolute joke.
