Hi, I had my 250 cup in for a 4 wheel alignment this weekend and most of the wheels were out. The front toe was corrected but the front camber and caster for the drivers side were not, the near side was fine. I believe there is no adjustment of the camber, if that is correct, which part needs replacing? Also the rear toe was out, but not by much. Again, which part do i have to change? Thanks,
For the caster they need to be between 7.21 & 5.21, ideally 7.21 and mine is 7.39. For the camber it's should be between -1.27 & -0.22, ideally -0.52 and mine is -0.21. For the rear toe it's between 0.10 & 0.25, ideally 0.17 and mine are NS 0.06, OS 0.27.
I wouldn't worry about the caster if both sides are the same or very similar Are both front Cambers the same ? Rear toe, only option is to shim What about rear camber ?
No, the NS camber is -0.47 & the casrter is 7.03. The rear camber is fine, it's where it should be. Whereabouts would the shim go? I did have a new lower wishbone put on the NS a few months ago, I'm wondering if the integrated bush has gone the drivers side.
Front caster is not massively different, I guess front camber could be bush related Maybe adjustable top mounts could be fitted to allow correction / adjustment At the rear shim(s) goes between the hub carrier and the beam https://www.pure-motorsport.co.uk/megane-3rs/megane-3rs-suspension/megane-3rs-camber-toe-shim.html
Thanks for the info, I think those shims should work well to sort the rear toe. I'm not going to go down the adjustable mount route, I had new top mounts put in earlier this year. I'm fairly certain it's a bushing that has worn.
