Hi All, has anyone had any problems with the alarm on their Megane? for some reason my alarm will go off at random times, no explanation as to whats causing it. the only thing that is consistent about when it has gone off is it's during the night lol. can anyone help? as it's really annoying me and i'm sure it's annoying the neighbours too BIGDAVE
I get the same probs to mate when I park on the flat part of my drive at night only, I don't get it happening when I park on our kerb and raise the passenger side up, so I am guessing its condensation build up as it gets colder in the evening.
i was wondering if it might be condensation. it only seems to happen when it's a really cold evening when the car is icing up
Have you tried turning off the vehicles interior protection to see if this cures the problem? Also, when you open it, how many times does it "Beep" at you?
how do i turn off the interior protection? when i unlock the car after the alarm has gone off, it does a long beep for a few seconds then stops. when i unlock it on a normal occasion it doesn't beep
I'm afraid you will have to read your owners manual to work that one out. There is normally a way of doing this though for leaving pets unattended in the vehicle. It should also explain the "beep" duration reference to. Mick
Not sure on the R26 but on the mkIII I think you press the engine start button three times in quick succession with the door open and then when you close the door and arm the alarm, the interior sensors are off. Try that it may help. Are you sure it's connected to the condensation rather than the wind rocking the car or changing the interior air pressure?
i'll have a look at turning the sensors off, thank you. might be worth resetting them. i did originally think it was caused by the wind but we had a few windy days last week and it didn't go off. it went off late last night and i don't think it was windy at all and i also closed the vents when turning off the engine to see if that worked (it obviously didn't lol)
