225 Airbag Light

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by meso100, Jul 31, 2013.

  1. The warning light came the dash a few weeks ago and hasn't gone off.

Is there an easy way for me to figure out which side it relates to and any common remedies or do I need to go pay a garage to put a clip in?

Will is stop the affected airbag from deploying or could it affect all airbags?

    Thanks

Does your steering click when you turn lock to lock? I'd bet a fair chunk of money on it being the steering squib.

  3. So when the engines running do full lock to full lock and see if it cracks?

Yeah - infact does the light come on straight away or when you start moving?

  5. If its 225 then it's most prob gonna be the harness under the drivers seat! Give it a wiggle about a little and it will prob take the light of, but any consult will tell you what side it is!
My money is on the drivers harness tho!

That's a good shout too - when you said airbag light I instantly thought of the wheel!

  7. It's on all the time straight from ignition on.

Drivers harness? Is that the wire under the seat?

  8. Yeah that the wire with a connector block that's directly under the seat the block should be clipped into the body if it is unclip it and when the light goes of it shouldn't come back on!
It's a common fault and Reno have been replacing the connection with modified parts!

  9. Cable tie does a job too.

  10. Guys one thing I didn't mention at the time is my cruise control has stopped working as well. From looking around on the internet it seems to point to a replacement rotary switch!

It looks like I'm talking £150 replacement part plus labour. Has anyone had one replaced before? Does it need to be done by the Stealers?
