Air Con sensor/switch - diy fix?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Nicholas Weston, Jul 18, 2019.

  1. Just ordered an air con sensor for my Megane 265 (Part no.921361722R) in the hope this will rectify the fact that its not working.

Predictably, Renault want vast sums to change the sensor saying its a 3 hours job including a further diagnostic and re-gas.

I've been told elsewhere that this is a self-sealing part and as the system has been recently re-gassed, it wouldn't need to be done again, or is this incorrect?

If the sensor is faulty, would changing it get the air-con working again or would anything else need doing.

If it is as simple as just changing the part, assuming I can get the bumper off, is this something I could feasibly do myself to save some money.
If it does need a further re-gas, I could always do this afterwards.

    Thanks

  2. Nobody done this on the drive?
