Afternoon All

  1. Afternoon everyone,

    I'm another over from meganesport.net!

Had my Liquid Yellow R26 since mid-May when I bought it from ALC from the other forum.

This car is the latest in a string of french hatches for me, mainly 306s, the latest of which were two GTi6s. I've driven a few different cars, but it seems only the french seem to have captured exactly how a hot hatch should handle, so there seems little point in investigating outside the french box for the timebeing!

    I have a quick couple of questions;

    1. at the risk of broaching a taboo subject.... why has this forum started up and is it me or has meganesport.net really gone quiet of late? I sense there's something political about it all, but have no idea not having been on the forum for very long!

    2. John Seal, the chap who I believe owns meganesport.net; I assume he's not on here at all? I'm rather keen on getting some of his wheel spacers for my R26, but am struggling to make contact with him having tried his company enquiries email, his spacers thread, and the pm system on ms.net....

    3. I'm toying with the idea of a backbox chop; does anyone have any idea on price and if a garage relatively local to me would be able to do this?

    4. Is Rsmegane.com planning on attending the Forge Action day down at Combe in September?!

    Cheers

    Ed

    Hi Ed!

    1) Dave sold to vertical scope. They only seem to be interested in milking the club for profit. I think tapatalk-gate was the final straw. Nothing political at all, and it's nice to have a choice of clubs

    2) Unsure, but he doesn't own MS.net as far as i'm aware.

    3) Pass!

    4) If enough members can cobble together I don't see why not!

    Welcome.

    Luke.

  8. Aah I see! I fair enough, I'd rather support a club that's in it for the members rather than for profit!

How are you going to go about building up the technical knowledge/guides section? Are there many of those who contributed to the other forum guides who wouldn't mind putting them up on here too?

If anyone has any answers to the other queries it would be appreciated!

    Cheers all!

  9. Welcome aboard where abouts are you from ?
If you chop out your rear box it will make a big diffrence and you will keep the whistle noise (that comes from the mid box).

  10. I'm down south! I live in Milford, just south of Guildford  lovely roads round here, hence the choice of car :tongueout: my old track spec gti6 was hilarious round the roads, but the meg is in a different league!

Cheers for the info on the backbox chop. Not that I'm that bothered but does it do anything to improve flow and power? I'll be fitting ktec modified Airbox soon too...

welcome, i wouldn't bother with the ktec induction kit. Neither would i chop the back box. Id remove the centre box...

    All IMO of course.

  12. There's a good place in basingstoke that do exhaust work for a good price.....

  13. Welcome to the site

  14. Naith why do you say that? Surely the ktec Airbox will help a bit? I got it for very little so dont feel like I've lost out, surely it'll help breathing a bit?

And jos do you have any contact details for the garage?

if you got it for very little then fill your boots but to pay their prices for it would be madness.

  16. It's fast fit I think, google longlife exhausts in basingstoke. He's doing mine next week for £50
