R26 Aftermarket suspension springs 225/R26 (apex)

  1. Hi all,

Looking for some advice for aftermarket suspension springs for 225/R26.

Does anyone have Apex suspension springs on their 225/R26?

If so, how are they? Or would i be better of just waiting until cooksport springs are back in stock?

    Cheers

I ran tried the Apex springs on my Clio and found them extremely crashy. Suffice to say I removed them shortly after.

I don't know of anyone running them on a Megane, I would wait for the Cooksport springs which are a tried and tested product.

  3. Thats what I'm thinking. I don't think I have heard anyone say a bad thing about the cooksport springs. More than happy to pay that bit extra when you know it's a quality product.

  4. Same as Gray. I ran Apex on a Clio and they were hard as nails. Great on track but far too crashy for our roads.

  5. Ive just had the apex springs fitted to my 225 trophy and if anything the ride feels much better for me but that's just my opinion, they've only been on for bout 3 weeks so they won't really be settled yet! As for the ride hight they don't look that much lower but again they'll not be settled in yet!
It just depends on how you want the ride! I felt the springs on the trophy were a bit hard for too hard!
    Hope that's helped!!

Apex are bad on every car I've tried with them. I use PI springs and they work well on the meganes.

  7. Im waiting for the cooksport springs i believe they are supposed to be coming in stock in the next week or so so you dont really have much of a wait i have heard nothing but good news on them

Apex ar on my clio and they ate pathetic, rates are all wrong for oem suspension.

Get yourself some cooksports, they're lovely.

  9. Brilliant.

    Thanks guys.

Cooksport was always my first choice. You have just confirmed this for me.

I'll be interested to see what they look like when they've settled down!

  11. I'll get some pics when the weather is ok!

How are you getting on with the springs? any pictures?

  13. Springs seem to be ok, don't really feel much difference from the stock trophy ones and if I'm honest they don't look any lower either!
I'll see if I've got some pics!

  14. I also have a Trophy model and was thinking about lowering it, but I've been told by a few different people they run eibach springs as standard (including the garage I bought it from as they fitted two brand new ones on the front prior to me buying it) so would you not need a different fitting/type spring again if lowering a Trophy model hence you thinking yours doesn't look much different. I mainly want to lower mine for cosmetic reasons and not too worried about handling as its very rare I blast it these days. Getting sensible in my old age I guess. Any insight on this will be hugely appreciated as I'm new to megane RS's and the forum.

    Thanks, Dan

  15. sports have eibach springs as standard I'm not sure if you can get lower ones from them but h&r do a 40mm lower spring set cooksports are widely regarded as the best springs for the megane here's mine be for and after the pics aren't the best as it an iphone pic and also black car the after pic is straight after fitting before the springs have settled but should give you an idea

  16. Ok found some before pics, to me the handling is a little better but I'm not sure about the hight!
I went for the apex as they were better value and handling!
