250 Adjust door alignment

  1. Has anyone had to adjust a door at all on a mk3? It's always been like it but the passenger door just sags ever so slightly so the panel and trim look out of line, it just annoys me a bit.

  2. Mine does this too. Also on passenger side. Also GW. Lol.
I haven't tried yet but I'm thinking of adjusting it. No doubt I'll stuff it up though.

  3. Mine sits fine.....no idea how you would adjust it though, pop in to a local body shop maybe?

  4. Just adjust the door lock strike plate up or down in and out.
Remember to mark it before you start.

The bolts are very tight and the back plate although prevented from dropping inside is also double sided tape glued into inside panel so gives impression it does not move. Had to loosen it right off then re tighten finger tight and thump it hard with rubber mallet needs persuasion to move.
It was very successful though. It was noticeably out. My current 265 is errr acceptable so will not bother.
    Cheers Andy

  5. Ta Andy will have a go.

  6. How is this going to adjust the door? All your doing is moving the lock. Which in turn will cause it to 'bump' up the catch when closing the door forcing the door into an unnatural position

  7. It was slightly proud the lines appeared low [and ultimately looked twisted.]
I reset the lock and strike plate as it seemed to be pressuring it down and not drawing/holding the door in and it looked fine after.
