My car is a megane 225 cup facelift and my ABS, ESP and orange light came on and will not go back off even after disconnecting battery for an hour . Before I go investigating I was wondering if there are any common faults to look out for? I am not a mechanic to trade but have tons of experience so I am hoping to fix myself. If anybody is near me who has a CLIP or equivalent code reader would be willing to retrieve codes I would be very grateful.
Yeah checked brake fluid and also tried the steering wheel lock to lock a few times method also. Maybe Give the sensors a clean and check tomorrow
Only a guess but it may be an abs sensor, they seem fairly common things to go, without a code reader though your just guessing!
Yeah I know. My brother in law works for Renault in Motherwell but they are really strict so will still have to pay
Not thought about buying an obd reader/ elm bluetooth adapter + app/ RSTuner etc? They come in very handy tbh!
Okay. The code has been read and it says front nearside wheelbearing is at fault. Mechanic says it needs a new wheelbearing. There is no play or noise so my hunch is that the abs part is either dirty or knackered. Is it a magnetic ring on the front of these?
