Abarth 500 595 695

  1. Been looking at these recently.

Some pretty trick stuff on them and high power to weight.

    That biposto looks crazy.

Wife had the base 500 abarth as courtesy car and that was poor. But 595 comp with performance pack has 180 bhp and lsd, koni suspension pretty big brembos, loud exhaust. Only weighs a tonne.

The good ones are pretty pricey but like renault drop like a stone in first coupld of years and flatten out.

I think they can get 260hp out of them, not bad for a 1.4ltr, what could go wrong, don't get me wrong a like Fiats, had 4 Uno turbo's, coupe 20v turbo, 2 x Stilo Abarth's

  3. I think a Map on a 180 bhp takes you to 200 bhp/tonne.

Which is bang on a std Megane 275.

I never thought that when I hear them driving about.

With a Diff it should be able to get 200 bhp down pretty easily.

Rear damper setup is dangerous in them [emoji1787]

  5. Why is that? The comp has koni dampers.

Ah that may be OK then, stock ones are like pogo sticks [emoji23]

  7. The 595 Comp is good fun but I am tall and find the driving position an issue as there is no height adjustment on the seat, or reach adjustment on the steering wheel. If you can live with that they are great.

  8. Its for may wife. She drives a 2005 STi.

She likes the noise and the individuality rather than the performance or hard driving.

I had been thinking about a Fiesta ST or MX5 both of which are probably dynamically superior. But a bit common.

She is quite short and always puts seat to top height (which I then drop)
