Well I had originally planned to take afew days off this week to catch up on afew bits but I just had to get this detailed. So this car is a very very rare thing, it starts life as a standard Alfa gt but is then sent to autodelta who performed the full works on this car so engine work to 3.7 litre and a rotrex supercharger is also added, this earlier model has around 380bhp and 375lb/ft of torque the later ones had 405bhp. That was the first part of the transformation, this car also had the upgraded suspension and brake package and the full aero kit so is a full gt super car and is also number 1. The car had a terrible smart repair which the owner wanted to see if anything could be done to improve upon it and the rest was polished and the wheels sealed. Really wasn't sure how this colour would turn out as it hid so much but really pleased. so upon arrival: The apparent repair: So washed via the 2 bucket method: I already knew paint readings and polishing combination from the initial quote so it was straight onto the clay bar then polishing:
Then panel wiped: The owner likes to wax the car after washing so it doesn't make sense to apply something like a coating and I thought the car would look much better for wearing a wax so Britemax extreme elements was machined on to give protection and a great base for the wax to build on: This was then left so whilst that was curing I cleaned and sealed the wheels: Then the extreme elements was buffed off and I added 2 layers of Britemax Vantage wax: Engine wasn't cleaned but couldn't resist some pictures: All finished up:
Great work as always Ed, always quite liked these, a friend owned a black GT a few years back. Bloody hell though, that smart 'repair' is absolutely shocking!
Kind of mate managed to remove a lot of the overspray and texture and wet sanded as far as I could but the owner said he could now live with it, by no means perfect but it's a big improvement. thanks for the comments guys.
Thats mad! I looked at the first few pictures thinking "that's clean already... what more can he do" but damn! That's a whole new level of detailing! Great work!
you should check out his work on a couple of the R26.Rs mate - its out of this world - they are posted on this! Another great thread Liquid! - really enjoy seeing these different rare Marques
