Well I must admit I've probably had about 18 months from feeling a bit 'meh' about detailing. Not that I'd dare let my standards drop on my own cars but I've not had that real urge to get up early and crack on like I used to. Until today! So up at 7.30 and all the gear ready by 8am! :thumb: First up was the Megan's interior, wasn't too bad but 500-600 miles since the last once over (2 months!!). Floor protectors doing their job, not the best looking things but serve a purpose - Always find these two a cheap and reliable combination - And this little chap helps - Now for the outside, not terribly sorry for itself but not clean by any means - Now a detailing friend of mine had recommended using Valet Pro Citrus Pre Wash. We'd both expressed how unimpressed we'd been with snow foam and I'd never really found it lifting the dirt like you'd expect. Sprayed over the car mixed 1:10 Was surprised it almost foams when the pressure washer hit it - This was the state of the car after rinsing with the pressure washer - The car was then washed with Dodo Juice Born to be Mild and microfibre wash mitts, dried using microfibre towels. Glass was then sealed with Serious Detailing Super Glass Seal. If I could use a dog analogy for detailing products, Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel is a faithful old labrador. Goes on and on and never lets you down! Finally looking like this - So I'll be maintaining the look of the car for the next 6 months or so as it's newly clayed and sealed. Glad to be feeling the detailing urge again though. :thumb:
Nice work mate, whoever recommended the citrus stuff must be a genuis them bolt covers looks awful though mate need some taper pro bolts.
Must be a genius haha Top advice though. Yeah I do want some proper bolts, those are super cheap so I'm not fussed at the moment.
Yeah mate. I was driving the other day and I forgot how quick it was and how uninspiring the car sounds. Actually found a PowerFlow place in Brighton as my local places have all stopped doing exhausts. Place I found was excellent.
Looking good Alex  Funnily enough, I ordered some ValetPro citrus pre wash a couple of weeks ago, having read Ed's comments on the R26.R thread. I do like a good snow foam, but going to give this a try and see how I get on.
I’ve jumped on the ValetPro citrus bandwagon today too. I was collecting some Gtechniq W5 Citrus from Ed yesterday (at his recommendation, as it will ‘reset’ the Gtechniq coating on mine) when he said the Valetpro stuff is the way forwards! I managed to get 1L plus a decent pump up sprayer bottle on fleabay for £22 delivered which isn’t bad really.
Mine was a recommendation from Ed aka LiquidF1 as well. Let's face it, if he's doing this for a living he knows what works and what doesn't. We were talking about snow foams and both said they don't seem to do a lot. You look on Detailing World and people are making out their car is practially clean after using it etc etc. I never found that. With the Citrus Pre Wash though, it's a marked difference. Genuinely lifts dirt and you can see how the pressure washer removes a good percentage of what's on the car. I wouldn't go back to not using it now bearing in mind how must easier (and of course safer on paint) it makes washing the car.
