Not sure if this is common knowledge but found this out by accident recently. With your light mode set to 'auto' on the left stalk, normally DRL's will function in daylight. (No s**t) If you access the 'settings menu' using the right stalk and deselect 'auto dipped-beam headlights' this will deactivate the DRL's so you will NO lights on driving around in the day. I prefer mine on but it might be of use to someone? Does this work for all models I wonder? Cheers Si
That setting isn't on the 275 Trophy as far as I can see. What's the point of it if you can just turn the stalk away from auto?
Serves you right for having a better car! Any position on my lights including '0' will still use the DRLs in daytime so it's the only way to turn them off.
Yeah its in the settings with rear parking sensors on/off/volume etc dont know why you wouldnt want to turn them off anyway
does it? ill need to check mine then. strange why it says auto dipped headlights if you don't have them
Agreed Mike and as far as I can see it isn't mentioned in the manual thus me posting it for all to see. I'm wondering if the difference of it being an option is down to firmware version too?
Can confirm. Mine has auto lights and doesn't have this option so looks like it's been removed in the 275s and we have to have them on.
this is maybe because cars built after a certain date require DRL by law for the mot. IIRC its part of the mot from some point in 2016
Only if the model is designed after a certain point. As the model has existed since before the laws were enacted (facelifts/special editions don't count as a new model) they don't need to have them. That's why the 265s had the option. It's been law for anything designed and then manufactured after 2011 afaik.
00angent, I noticed you have your car for sale , as I am new to this site I do not know how to contact you? Can you message me?
I was in the Renault dealership last week and the lead service guy there said even a facelift is enough to flag the requirement for DRL's. My 250 has the option also, as far as I know it's more for the cars that didn't get the DRL's as optional extra as that's what the bulb next to the indicator is for which has no use if you have the l.e.d DRL's.
If that's the case the 265 and 275 (both facelift) were manufactured after this point (and were actually sold in tangent) yet only the 275 has the option removed. If it was the case it being law then surely the facelifted 265 (not the 265 trophy) would also not have this option?
