250 Tyre valve leaking

  1. I had a warning come up on the 250, that the front drivers side tyre pressure was low after a cold night, it was on around 2bar and had been for a week or so, went to inflate it earlier and the valve stem moves slightly and leaks faster than it can be inflated.

Now the car is showing puncture on the dash, the tyre has deflated but you can move the valve a little so it doesn't appear to leak but it won't inflate. Does this need to fixed by Renault or can a valve be fitted by my local tyre place that I use? does it just need tightening as such?

Thanks for any help, need to get this fixed soon!

  2. Have you tried to tighten the valve up, may of loosened up. But just be careful when tightening.

  3. I tried but it seemed tight enough!

  4. If its tight it shouldnt move, had similar with mine, but it didnt move. Turned out it was over tightened, and distorted the metal rail on the sensor that the stem slides into. New sensors about £30ish.

  5. tyre pressure sensors are over £100 are they not?

  6. Paid around £34 each for mine from Ads

  7. No £30 oddish each, no programing required either. I had a spare wheel anyway, so fitted the new sensor to that, abd swapped the wheel iver when i had new tyres fitted. Then repaired the broken one and refitted with a new collar.

  8. What shit design. Made of some sort of metal which corrodes. Had new tyres on mine replaced them all for normal valves, look much better on black alloys no leaks and no expensive sensors to worry about. I don't undertake why you need pressure sensors in a car that doesn't have runflats.
